If I had I probably would not have, and that would have been a BIG mistake. I have 4 cats that stay inside all the time and three dogs that come in sometimes. Believe me, having a good hand vac is a must in my house. When mine (won’t name the brand) kicked the bucket and I could not find another one at a local store I settled for this SHARK.
I have just cleaned all the upholstered furniture in my downstairs and it’s quite a lot. I have emptied and cleaned the filters twice and could not believe the amount of dander, dust, hair and everything else nasty that the other hand vac left behind. The furniture that I just cleaned was supposed to be fairly clean, I was just doing a regular weekly cleaning. I was totally shocked at how much stuff was in my furniture that I thought the other vacuum was getting out.
This is a great Vacuum! It cleans excellent, it does run a little loud, but no louder than my other one. It has great suction on the hand held hose and crevice tool. I especially like the filter that can be totally cleaned with hot water to get rid of the dander and dust. It’s not too heavy, and if it only lasts a year under this heavy use, then I have gotten my moneys worth at less than a month. I would buy another one without question.

Great at what it does – poor design – Todd Copeland –
I have two cats and wanted a vacuum that I could quickly clean up he small areas. I waned a vacuum with a hose and I liked the fact that this still had a rotating brush. The amperage was good as well.
This vacuum is _excellent_ are picking up animal fur and debris. I mean, it’s great at it! I vacuumed the seat pad that my cat sleeps on and the caked on fur just came right off. I used it on the stairs and could not believe the amount of debris that it picked up. I’d give it 5 stars in this area.
But as other have mentioned, the vacuum _will_ shut off as it gets too hot. Clearly a design flaw that the manufacture did not feel like correcting before selling. Happens about 30 minutes into use. You can tell from the start that the machine gets very hot. You are left with no choice but to turn it off and wait. I’d give it 1 star in this area. I’d give it 1-2 stars over-all as I’d consider this design flaw to be a slap in the face from the manufacture but when it works…. it works very good.

I got my used Euro-Pro Shark Cordless Sweeper at an auction a few months ago. The battery looked to be the original one and didn’t hold much of a charge. Since the battery cover clearly recommends replacement every 9 – 12 months, I found a battery through Amazon. The replacement battery (V-1911) came quickly. After charging for the recommended time, I put the sweeper to use. Holds the charge through at least four or five lengthy sweeping sessions. I’m very happy and would definitely recommend this product.

I have owned one of these for over 5 years. I have used it mostly on cat messes, particularly vomit. It works great! Instead of rubbing the mess further into the carpet like a traditional cleaner and brush would do, it actually lifts the soil and sucks it up. I have never had any issues with the suction–works very well. The only downside is that the brush gets pretty gunky after awhile and has to be cleaned. It is also quite loud, so not good to use while others might be sleeping. It has a nice long cord and the cleaning solution works well and has a pleasant clean scent. I am recommending it to my mother who now has an old, sick cat as well

We bought this product because we have two cats who are always making messes. It’s been fabulous! It gets the stains out very well. It’s light weight, and the cord is nice and long. It comes apart nicely for easy cleaning of the brushes and tanks. The only thing I was surprised at is I think it could use a little bit more suction. Not much water ends up in the tank. But we still love it!

After an issue with our Shark pet hand vac not being able to charge anymore, we found this. I am not particularly fond of the color red in general and we all know DD’s are a very bright, blinding red. I have used it before the 24 hour charge period, and naturally it began to die on me. Why its not almost fully charged already concerns me, to say the least. I do not recall receiving the brush attachment with the product.
Pros:
It seems to pick up nicely and have good suction power for the price.
The filter is washable and so is the dirt cup.
The charging port is on the back of the handle, not on the underside like other products.. This is much more convenient.

Takes a long time to charge
The dirt cup is small, but this isn’t really a big deal for me because when I’m cleaning I always keep a large trash can or trash bag with me at all times and can empty it frequently. This could however, be a problem for others.
The bright red color is hideous, but that’s what Dirt Devil makes their products in.
That gray tight corners tool that comes out doesn’t stay out. You have to manually hold it out or it will pop back in for no reason. I don’t particularly like the fact that this tool is put in there like that.. Its very inconvenient when you’re cleaning and it goes in and out, in and out.
The top that you empty by pressing the two silver side buttons doesn’t always latch down and it happened to open mid cleaning and spill its contents all over the stairs on me.. Nice.
Its big and bulky and definitely not user friendly. I prefer the skinnier vacuums.

I have had the Dirt Devil Scorpion vacuum for about 3 years and it’s pretty good. I only use it about 4-6 times a year. It’s not broken and don’t expect to replace it anytime soon. I hope it lasts forever.
5 STARS=EXCELLENT
0 STAR=POOR
SUCTION POWER – 5 STARS: This is a small handheld vacuum but the suction power is incredible! You get even more suction power when you flip on the green tip (and it’s attached! you can’t lose it). I use it clean the filters from my Frigidaire AC unit and my (Rabbit Air) Air Purifier. The motor is powerful and it does not run on battery charges, just good old straight from the wall electricity.
FILTER – 1.5 STARS: The filter inside the vacuum is kind of flimsy and clothy. When I vacuum, I can’t shake off the dust from the filter, it kinds of sticks onto the filter, and I have to peel away the layers of dust. To some people, doing this is a dealbreaker, there’s no way around it. Remember, I vacuum small dust particles, not large objects like Cheerios. I always have to rinse the filter with water in the kitchen sink and let it dry overnight. ***Note: Other people, may have other opinions due to what they vacuum. I posted some pics, you be the judge.***
NOISE – 0 STARS: It’s loud…very loud. At first use, it may startle you or your pets, and gets annoying after a while. It has a small whine to it. It gets louder when you flip on the green tip.
ATTACHMENTS – 3 STARS: Comes with a two attachments: One hose (~28 inches) and one brush attachment. There’s nothing extraordinary about it. I use the hose attachment and the green tip the most. I don’t really use the brush attachment so I can’t comment. You can connect the brush attachment directly onto the vacuum.
WEIGHT – 3.5 STARS: It’s less than 4 pounds but it can be tiring to hold if used too long…I think that’s why it comes with a shoulder strap. I don’t use the shoulder strap because the vacuum gets a little too warm for me. When I vacuum, I attach the hose and put the vacuum on the floor but it may tilt on it’s side (be careful when doing this, please do not vacuum while the unit is on its side).
I would like to see a better filter design, a grounded plug, and a sturdy base (so it doesn’t roll to its side).
OVERALL, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HANDHELD VACUUM if you want suction power, I would not recommend this vacuum to people with dust allergies, since cleaning the filter is not ideal for some people. It does the job but it’s not perfect. I used to own a Dustbuster and the suction was poor because it ran on batteries, I eventually threw it away. Since the Dirt Devil Scorpion is corded, the suction power will not wane like cordless vacuums.
This product seems to be made of good quality and I expect it to last for a long time.

The machine its self is very cool. it moves throughout the entire house, howerver there is not enought suction. it only picks up dust. I have a dog and need the vacumn for the hairs and it won’t pick up all the hairs.
